The new dumb.

Once spoken of as a new social class by my dear friend HST, may his memory live. Today it seems that we have a whole country, hell let‘s call the whole Western hemisphere[1] that has aspired to this/his fine term. We are Icelanders, proud and profoundly dumb. We apparently (as I am inside looking out), have this idea that our point of view counts in a capitalist environment although we are hardly a market to cater for, because of our population, or size for that matter. Grand ideas may often lead to great achievements but this is where we Icelanders are no longer playing the fair game. We want money for nothing, first and foremost because we have no understanding in our history for the value of money. However, we are succumbed to the idea of envy by others towards our worldly finery as this will show status. Therefore the envied dominate the envious by owning things that the envious cannot get their hands on by other means than to be dominated and this whoredome has become common practice. The fat is in the fire and we want money, more money because money is the new black. The new dumb is a circular term[2] that will have relevance for ages to come. However, there doesn‘t seem to be much time left. Perhaps it is time to evaluate money in a world where nothing is for sale.
